I'm a lawyer and an investor. I'm also a poet.
Those three lives rhyme more than you'd expect. They're about searching for the truth, taking a position, and being held to it.
Iām a Vice President at SIM IP (Sauvegarder Investment Management), a firm that deploys its own capital to buy, structure, and monetize intellectual property. I lead the firm's virtual reality program, built on over 500 patents from Ultraleap. I also lead our cybersecurity program, built on a cross-domain security portfolio developed at QinetiQ, a company spun out of the Defence Evaluation and Research Agency (DERA), the UK Ministry of Defence's research agency. Those inventions began by protecting nations' classified networks. Today they protect everyone.
Buying patents and running licensing programs only works if you know what happens when those patents go to court, and I spent the first years of my career finding out.
My first case out of Harvard Law School was a criminal trial against the Department of Justice. The government accused ten executives of fixing the price of chicken across a $28-billion industry for eight years. I helped defend a former Vice President of Pilgrim's Pride, and after three trials in Colorado and more than 24 weeks in court, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty. The defense was named Global Competition Review's 2023 Behavioral Matter of the Year for the Americas.
Then I got into patents. For 10x Genomics in the District of Delaware, I litigated and took to trial foundational patents on in situ spatial biology, work from the lab of the geneticist George Church. Against Vizgen, we took down more than a billion dollars in trebled damages at summary judgment and closed the case mid-trial, before Vizgen had put on a single witness in its defense. Against Bruker, we secured a $68 million payment, ongoing royalties, cross-licenses to Bruker's entire global patent portfolio, and a full withdrawal of Bruker's worldwide claims.
I was born in India, grew up in Canada, and now live in New York City. My first album, P.S. BROWN TREASURE, came out on July 4th, 2026. It's a love letter to America, and a toast to the beauty and complexity of immigration. Art is important to me because I believe it can save you, and therefore the world.
I clerked for the Honorable Sue E. Myerscough in the Central District of Illinois. Every morning on the walk to chambers, I had the privilege of passing by Abraham Lincoln's old law office.
